Robert Gantzos first studied theatre at the University of Colorado where he also performed in the Colorado Shakespeare Festival. He left there for New York to study with Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre. While at the Playhouse, where he studied acting with Richard Pinter and Robert Modica as well as Mr. Meisner, Robert got a wonderful taste of dance, vocal training and stage combat. He studied ballet with Barbara Cole, the Martha Graham Technique with Kevin Keenan, musical theatre with Skip Kennon and fencing with Joe Daly, who was fresh off his dueling training of Robert DeNiro for The Mission. His days being full, he used his nights to earn a dance scholarship from Dance Concepts, a studio in the heart of Broadway. After graduating from the Playhouse, Robert bounced back and forth between New York and L.A., walking the boards in several productions as well as breaking into the television and film world. Robert has continued his work in film, television and on the stage, most recently in the Donald Margulies drama "Dinner with Friends" at the West Coast Ensemble; and, his most recent film, "Little Wings", was well received at the Cannes Film Festival. Robert has also enjoyed passing on his passion of the Meisner Technique by teaching as well, most recently at the William Alderson Acting Studio. |
